We ask that all who start their bellydance journey with Lotus Dance Studio begin with these classes. Our Beginner Classes are designed to make you a strong and graceful dancer. The longer you stay in these classes the stronger a dancer you will be.
Our Beginner Classes are structured as follows:
Warm Up
Strectching & Strengthening through Yoga and/or other exercises
Posture recognition
Isolation Drills, such as abdominals, obliques, glutes, etc.
Stationary Beginner Dance Vocabulary
Traveling Movements
Transitions
Simple Cymbal Patterns
All the above is a required part of every dancer's daily personal practice, for this reason we ask that all our students stay in these classes as long as possible.
We will not advance you onto another class lelvel after only a few weeks. Your body will grow into the more advanced classes and we will tell you when you are ready. However, our intermediate students continue to take Beginner classes for the benefit of the drills.
American Tribal Style Bellydance (ATS)® ~ Improvisational group dance. A modern style of bellydance created by FatChanceBellyDance director, Carolena Nericcio. American Tribal Style Belly Dance is clearly defined and documented with the primary characteristic being that of group improvisation. Learn all the cues, transitions and body language that pertains to this beautiful and powerful artform. This is for Levels 1-1/2 and above only.
Tribal Basics One or Introduction to Tribal Style~ This class is designed for those who want to start with Tribal Style Bellydance , It is a beginner's class, however, some previous dance experience is helpful. Feel Free to contact the studio is you would like more information . 954-433-3552
Conditioning Drills for Tribal Fusion ~ Utilizes Yoga, plus a strong workout derived from Martial Arts and Pilates to condition and prepare the body for Tribal Fusion Bellydance. This is for Levels 1-1/2 and above only.
Tribal Fusion Bellydance ~ Integrates Classical Bellydance & American Tribal Style, with Hip-Hop, Gothic, Industrial, Club Dance and with influences of Afro-Caribbean, Indian and Polynesian dance forms. Highly energetic. This is for Levels 1-1/2 and above only.
Tribal Bellydance & World Tribal ~ Learn Tribal Bellydance vocabulary, deriving from North African, Egyptian, Indian and Flamenco Movements. Basic cues and transitions that allow one common language for Improvisational Tribal Style Performance. Choreographies may apply as well. High Energy at the intermediate levels. This is for Levels 1-1/2 and above only.

Easy Does It Gentle Belly Dance~ Learn to Belly Dance in an easy and gentle format. This class contains a large warm up and stretch section. All the contractions of the "Beginners Belly Dance Curriculum", gentle movements and steps. A good stretch at the end. Open to all Beginners or as a warm up for subsequent classes.
Shimmy Pulse~ A High Energy Aerobic and Anaerobic class focusing on strengthening and cardio vascular health.
Latin Dances
Bachata ~ Sensual Couples dance set to Dominican music.
L.A. Style Salsa ~ Mixture of Classic Salsa moves with the grace of Ballroom and Tango styles
